At Sluggers Baseball the athlete understands putting the "TEAM" before themselves for the betterment of the program. This is a selfless act that creates a win win situation and builds character.
SBC teaches players to focus on developing character, being good teammates, mastering all facets of the game and playing with joy in the moment rather than focusing on the scoreboard. The challenges faced in the batter's box and on the mound are universal, and the lessons learned on the diamond are applicable off the field too.
Everyone fails by striking out with runners on base, not executing bunts, poor situational hitting and bad base running to name a few of the failures that happen in the game. Baseball players must learn to handle failure if they want to achieve success. Rather than viewing failure as an end in itself, players must learn to live by the basic belief that failure is used as a learning opportunity.
